Life Support Mental Health Inc. (“Life Support”), a technology company focused on developing tools to assess and triage mental wellness, and the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) are pleased to announce a partnership to offer the national Mental Health Check — Frontline Workforce tool to nurses in Canada.
Recognizing that mental health and work-related stressors are pushing nurses to the breaking point, the tool allows nurses to detect concerns before they become serious problems. This will give nurses the ability to take better care of their mental health.
Life Support’s unique assessment tool was designed specifically for the frontline workforce community. It brings together a unique battery of psychological tools to screen for common mental health challenges that include things like anxiety, depression, operational and organizational stress, burnout, trauma, and substance-misuse, to name a few. The Mental Health Check — Frontline Workforce tool is eligible for coverage under most health and benefit plans and provides a confidential and comprehensive evidence-based assessment of an individual’s mental and emotional health. When required, Mental Health Check will further facilitate direct referral of these individuals to timely, qualified mental health support.
“Nurses are the foundation of the Canadian health system. It is time we put more thought and process into their mental health and well-being,” said Keith Crawford, CEO of Life Support. “Our partnership with CNA represents the commitment of both our organizations to the customized support nurses need for psychological self-care and distress management.”
CNA members receive a special 62.5% on the Mental Health Check assessment tool! Log in to your CNA account and click Access Now on the CNA $avings Centre tab. This offer will be featured on the main page once you are logged in.
“CNA is pleased to partner with Life Support to offer nurses a new tool to take better care of their mental health,” said Tim Guest, CEO of CNA. “Across the country, nurses are burned out, demoralized, and many are leaving their jobs and even the profession. Tools like this can help nurses assess their mental health and get connected with ongoing support if needed.”
